Aviation/Airway Management and Operations

Many people dream of getting involved in the aviation industry, but not everyone likes the idea of being a pilot. If this sounds like you, consider an aviation management and operations major. The program allows you to develop strong operational and managerial skills that will come handy when dealing with aviation management. The courses focus on developing decision making, critical thinking, and communication skills in order to grow in the industry. Throughout your course of study, you'll receive instruction on ground support, airport operation, passenger and cargo operation, ground traffic direction, aviation industry regulation, and all other related aspects aviation enterprise management. The degree also gives you the chance to work on unique research projects to enhance performance. After majoring in aviation management and operations, you can find employment as an airline safety manager, airport terminal controller, airline human resources manager, airline operations manager, or as an airline contract specialist.
