Alabama is a southeastern state with an average yearly temperature of 64 degrees Fahrenheit. The southern half of the state is largely flat while the northern portion is mountainous. There are 61 colleges in Alabama, with the largest being the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Most of the state runs on Central Standard Time, except for Phenix City, which follows EST. The most popular attractions are the U.S. Space and Rocket Center and Alabama beaches along the Gulf. One of the more unique features is the “Museum of Wonder: Drive Thru.”
