Medical Radiologic Technology/Science - Radiation Therapist

Entering a medical radiologic technology/service - radiation therapist program allows you to learn the ins and outs of administering radiation therapy in a way that best helps your patients. People who study this subject use x-ray equipment to scan a patient's body and find any problems. People majoring in medical radiologic technology/service take courses in radiation biology, radiation dosimetry, oncologic pathology, applied anatomy and physiology, treatment planning, radiation oncology procedures, and medical ethics. You'll also learn how to work with x-ray equipment, how to calculate radiation doses, and how to treat patients using x-rays and other technologies. Most graduates go on to work in hospitals, care centers, or rehabilitation facilities. Others may return to school and pursue other degrees or certifications in the health care field.
